Thomas Mazzarella

Thomas Mazzarella was born in Charleroi in 1983 and lives and works in Brussels. His paintings explore the human condition within contemporary urban landscapes, blending architectural precision with the playful, artificial language of video games. Characters inhabit interiors and cityscapes that are simultaneously intimate and vast, humorous and melancholic, navigating spaces where time, memory, and perception intersect. Thomas Mazzarella also likes to experiment in other media such as ceramics. Mazzarella’s solo exhibitions include “Grass Whistle” (Rossicontemporary, Brussels, 2023), “Sunrise, Sunset” (Rossicontemporary, Brussels, 2021), “Temps Nouveaux” (Rossicontemporary, 2019). A first large retrospective of his painted oeuvre took place at BPS22, Charleroi in 2018.
