Michel Mazzoni
Michel Mazzoni lives and works in Brussels. His photographic practice is process-driven with a careful attention to overlooked or precarious elements of daily life. By engaging with spaces, solids, voids, and off-screen fragments, Mazzoni creates images that punctuate reality like visual pauses, capturing moments suspended in the rhythm of modern existence. Working in series across varied formats, he often combines photocopies, color gels, and silver prints, sometimes extending into sculptural assemblages designed for public interaction. His work has been presented in solo exhibitions such as “Composition VI “(ma. art space, Brussels, 2025), “Agrégat” (Contretype, Brussels, 2023), and “Flat Cuts” (Centre d’art Nei Liicht, Luxembourg, 2023), and is held in public collections including the Musée de la Photographie, Charleroi; the National Bank of Belgium, Brussels; and FRAC Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. Mazzoni’s practice consistently challenges conventional photographic perception, treating the visual world as an inexhaustible material for exploration, modulation, and subtle intervention.
